MapIt adds Draw Compartments capability

Starting with Version 5.63.00 MapIt have added ability to create SHCP compartments by drawing them. The menu command “Create Parts | Draw Compartments” provides a user defined waterplane plot with any existing compartments and a supporting compartment creation dialog.  The user may then add either ‘main’ or ‘sub’ compartments by using a graphic rubber-band box to define the X & Y bounds.  Additional settings in the dialog help the user craft the additional desired compartment parameters.  The user may modify parameters before committing to the final version of the compartment definition.

The users graphics display is updated with the newly created compartment once the user commits to the definition.  Created compartment definitions are added to a text output file so that the user may further process or add the definitions to existing compartment data.

The user may select rectangular areas that transverse the centerline and, dependent upon the chosen Port/Stbd/CL setting, the proper singular or double SHCP compartment description will be created (double = port & starboard definitions).

The basic functionality provides the user with a means of visually entering and confirming the desired compartment geometry they are constructing.  A later functionality was also added which allows the compartment creation function to read a previously created “lego compartment” definition file and to process all the records into acceptable SHCP compartment format.
